When you think of how you met your best friend, it might not be the same as Abbey and me! We met playing soccer at recess in third grade. Right there, I knew that we would be best friends. We continued doing more things together. We played basketball with each other from that winter all the way to sixth grade. When I quit to cheer, she was pretty upset, but we found our ways around it! We have also played soccer together for many years, through different leagues and coaches. We always find ways to make each other laugh even when it’s unintentional. You can always catch Abbey and I talking about something we think is funny, singing a new song that is in our head, quoting things that happened years ago, dancing, or just having a good time with each other. One of my favorite memories I have with Abbey is going to a Pittsburgh Penguins hockey game together, and we had seats right behind the bench. That night we were rewatching the game and saw ourselves on TV. I hope that Abbey and I continue being as we are! We joke around with each other all the time and sometimes we don’t know if we are joking or not. I’ve learned that true friendship is a rare gift, and I will spend the rest of my life feeling lucky that I found mine in her.
