For the first time, Mahoning Valley Scrappers and WFMJ news held a Weather Education Day. Our eighth grade physical science students took part in this day. The Mahoning Valley Scrappers spoke mostly about the weather affects the game of baseball. Weather is the main reason why most baseball fields replace grass fields with dirt. The meteorologists said how the temperature affects the speed of the ball. Every 10 degrees equals 2.5 ft changed. Thank you so much Ms. Tabor for taking her third period physical science class! Turns out we only look at if the game will be cancelled rather than diving in deeper.
