There’s nothing like another year here at Niles Middle School hosting its 17th Annual Harvest Dinner at the end of September. It was run by the WEB and A-Teams and it was directed by Ms. Keatley and Ms. Rose. The Harvest Fest featured a variety of popular activities for students and families to enjoy!
The family and friends who came to the harvest dinner really enjoyed a perfect autumn evening under bright blue skies, with the air filled with the smells of pasta, hot dogs, and mini pancakes. The event offered a number of activities, including face painting, pumpkin painting, kids’ crafts, and raffle baskets, along with food and treats from Kona Ice.

The raffle baskets, donated by the WEB team, were a highlight of the night. Their themes, which included football, movie night, pink boo basket, lottery tickets, and dog items and many more fantastic themes. There were so many guests that came to the harvest dinner and got a chance to go home as a winner.
Ms. Newman, our art teacher, volunteered to set up a pumpkin painting activity in her room. She had every color of paint and markers you could think of for the children to paint their pumpkins with. The pumpkin painting was a success and all the students had a great time coloring and painting fun designs! And speaking of painting, it is probably the biggest attraction at the Harvest Fest. From little children to young teens, you would only see any type of Halloween painting of their face.
Many students and kids also took advantage of the beautiful weather to play outdoor games like basketball, football, and volleyball. The fantastic food was also a crowd-pleaser, with once again outdoing themselves.
Seventh grader, Aniello Rose said, “I really enjoyed hanging out with my friends and family. Mostly hanging out with my friends was my favorite part. Also the food was great!”
A big thank you goes out to the NMS WEB leaders, Ms. Rose, and Ms. Keatley for creating such a memorable and enjoyable experience for all the families and friends who attended. We look forward to many more years of NMS Harvest Dinners!
