Why did you want to play volleyball?
I wanted to play volleyball because I enjoy being active and it gets exciting the more I improve. Volleyball also gets me in better shape for baton season.
What do you enjoy most about being on the court during a game?
I enjoy the excitement of the students cheering us on in the bleachers! I feel like it makes everyone more excited and ready to play.
What do you wish for in the future about your volleyball career?
In the future I wish to become a better player overall, but I want to work harder to become better at serving and spiking. Even though my main goal is to become a better teammate and athlete.
We heard you have an injury; what is it and has this injury affected you?
I injured my ankle pretty badly and this has affected me in my day to day life. I struggle to walk without a boot and crutches; this means I can’t play for a while. I’m also not allowed to put too much pressure on it, so that makes it hard to walk or move.
When will the doctors clear you? If you’re cleared in time will you continue playing sports?
I have a doctor’s appointment on Thursday and she might clear me. If not I might get an MRI to see things more in detail. If I get cleared in time, I will continue on with the season and will begin my baton season right after.
Has this injury occurred before? If so, what did you do to heal quicker and continue playing sports?
Yes, I have had many sprains and even a growth plate fracture on this ankle. I go to physical therapy and ice and or elevate my ankle when needed to try and help it. I also wear an ankle brace to try and prevent injuries.
