The funny flip phone! Don’t laugh (but I know you will)–that was my very first phone. And yes, I was pretty embarrassed. When I found out I was getting one, I was annoyed because I didn’t have an actual smartphone, but YES it did get the job done. My experience with this phone was very weird. One reason was that I had to use a typing pad which took a long time. Another reason was that I could only take photos, text, and call. This experience made me realize how an Iphone is a luxury thing to have.

In the Summer of 2025, my parents decided that I could get a smartphone. I wanted an Iphone, However, my parents use an Android. So they decided to have me come up with a reason why I should have an Iphone. Here is my list of reasons:
- Apple Iphones have a variety of apps that Androids don’t.
- An Apple Iphone has more customization.; for example, the lock screen. You can add more than one photo to the lock screen which you’re able to tap the screen to get different photos. Also you can customize the home screen by changing the app logos colors.
- I also wanted an Iphone because I could facetime my friends with Iphones.
- The battery lasts a long time and it charges faster.
According to the Google search of Advantages of an Iphone, I found some pros for having this phone. Here are some pros. First, it has better security software. This means that it protects users from viruses and malware. Another reason is that it is faster. This means the set up is faster, no unnecessary apps too slow it down, and it has more storage space. It has better performance; this means that it is known for their superior performance. They are designed to function faster and smoother. Finally, it has better updates. It provides customers with timely and quick updates. These were some of the pros of having an Iphone.

I found out more about Iphones on the Google search for, “Here’s why Iphones are so popular with teens.” First of all, high schoolers view having an Iphone as a status symbol. Next, teens these days see an Android as outdated. Also, teens are giving into peer pressure because Android is not so popular. For example, teens are teasing and bullying each other for not having an Iphone. Finally, teens want to belong somewhere and follow the crowd.
Now that I have had an Iphone for three months, I am glad my parents agreed to it. My favorite part about my Iphone is how I can finally facetime my friends that have Iphones and all the customization that comes with my phone. I believe that I didn’t give into peer pressure because I’ve wanted an Iphone for a long time. Since I have it, I have facetimed my friends a lot which makes me stay connected with them.
So if your parents aren’t planning on getting you an Iphone, let them be parents. Trust me your day will come, just like mine did!
