During February, author Richard Cowdrey visited us here at Niles Middle School. He is a New York Times Best selling illustrator, fine artist, author, speaker and educator. In his professional career, Richard worked with a multitude of agencies, designers, toy companies, publishers, card companies, schools, large corporations, small shops, newspapers and more. Richard came here to NMS and talked to students about how he made his way up from a small artists to now. After he showed us his art work, he then did an activity with all three grades. At the beginning of his activity, he handed all students a pencil and notepad. With that, he did a quick draw of Fiona of the hippo teaching all three grades how to create her cute face.
