Gianna McKinley, 8th: There are many things I am thankful for, one of which is my parents. In February of 2015, my father was told my biological mother had passed away. It was definitely hard on my dad to raise three kids all on his own. Soon after, my dad met Chelsea. Chelsea helped my dad with babysitting and was there for him when he needed to talk about his feelings. Eventually, Chelsea and my dad got together and also married. After they got married, Chelsea adopted me and my brother and has been there for us ever since. I am so thankful that my dad got to meet such a wonderful person I can now call my mom.
Mackenzie Mechling-Coursen, 6th: I am thankful for my mom. My mom always goes above and beyond to make sure I’m taken care of, such as doing something as simple as providing food for me every day. Other kids probably say they are thankful for things such as video games, but moms truly put their blood, sweat, and tears into being the best person they can for their children. I feel incredibly thankful to have such a great mom.
Nicolas Logan, 8th: I am thankful for my mom. My mom works so much and still keeps going even though she doesn’t get along with her co-workers at times. She cares about me even when I don’t want to do anything. My mom tries her hardest to make me the happiest person I could ever be; my favorite thing she and I ever did had to be going to Cedar Point with her. Even in disagreements, I am so thankful to have a mom just like her.
Jacob Baniecki, 8th: I am thankful for music. Music has covered a huge patch of my life. I even have family members and friends who are musicians. Music truly helps me cope and focus, especially on one of my favorite things to do, which is skateboarding. But music has helped me find something to play and is almost like a key role in my life.
Keeley Sprague, 8th: I am thankful for my grandparents. They are always there for me if I need to be taken to an extracurricular activity. They are also kind to animals, especially dogs. They take care of my dog willingly and sometimes even “dognap” him. They love taking me and my siblings to fun seasonal activities. Without my grandparents, I would not be able to enjoy my childhood to the fullest.
Zyarie Tipton, 6th: I am thankful for my mom. I am thankful for her because she is there for me when I am feeling down or just don’t feel well. She is supportive of me no matter what I do. She is always by my side and is really hardworking. I appreciate her for what she does for me and my family. She is always proud of the things I accomplish. I couldn’t be more thankful for my mom.
Cullen Jones, 8th: If I had to be thankful for one thing, I would be thankful for my Mimi Jane. I am thankful for her because she was just the most amazing person. She would always see the good in everything and everybody, no matter what. She was a beam of light in a dark world. I will miss her so much. However, I remember the amazing memories I experienced with her. She truly was the best person placed on God’s green Earth.
Allyson Whitt, 8th: I am thankful for the NMS cheerleading team. Cheer has brought us all together as a family. Even though we all argue like we are sisters, we will always be there for each other. Without cheer, I wouldn’t have some of my closest friends. Cheering together or not, we will always be there for each other, and I am so thankful I had this opportunity to meet these amazing people.
Ethan Lewis, 8th: I am thankful for my stepdad, who is an at-home therapist and will cheer me up without fail. I am also thankful for my teachers, who inspire me, try their hardest to teach me, and encourage me to work to my potential. I am also thankful for my mom’s doctors, who have helped her throughout her pregnancy. Even after two miscarriages, they work their hardest to keep my mom calm and make sure she and the baby are their healthiest.
Olivia Arnaut, 8th: Everyone is thankful for something in life. For me, there is so much to be thankful for. If I had to pick one thing that I am most thankful for, it would be my beautiful mother. My mom is truly the best person in my life. She is the reason for all the good I do. My mom gives everything to my siblings and me. Growing up with it, just being one parent, was extremely hard for her, and I will forever give her credit for that. She deserves the world, and she is the hardest worker I know and honestly deserves everything she gets. I hope she realizes how much I love her and how thankful I am to have gotten so lucky to have her as my mother.
Anthony Lenhart, 6th: This year has been phenomenal so far, and I have many things to be thankful for. However, if I had to pick just one, I would have to pick my family. My family and I have gone through many hardships, like my grandmother moving in recently. Despite all of the tough things we are going through, my family will prevail, and I am thankful for that.
Aniello Rose, 6th: I am thankful for my mom and dad because they are the ones that take care of me when I need it the most. I am also thankful for my teachers for always making sure I understand the topics we are learning. Another thing I am thankful for is my coaches for helping me get better at every sport I play. Last but not least, I am thankful for my grandparents for making me delicious treats all the time!
Ada Edwards, 6th: I am thankful for my mom. My mom helps me get through anything and everything. I can always talk about anything I need with her. She works so hard so we can always have food on the table and I can have nice things. My mom is the most beautiful person to be, and I couldn’t be more thankful for her.
Abigail Cox, 6th: I am thankful for my mom and dad. They both do so much for us. They help my sister and me with everything we need, even if we don’t need their help. They are always there for us as a family. Even at Christmas dinner, I choked on my food, and my dad hopped over the table to prevent me from choking even more. I love them both so much, and they are the best people I know.
