Hello and welcome to Fish Fact Friday. If you’re new, I’m Fishman, aka Nicolas Logan, and if you didn’t know, I AM OBSESSED WITH FISH! This week’s fish is the Ocean Sunfish. The Ocean Sunfish is the largest bony fish in the world, i.e., not rays or sharks. They can weigh up to 5100 lbs and be 10 feet 10 inches in length. They cruise around temperate and tropical waters at a top speed of 2 mph. A cool thing they do is lay sideways on the ocean’s surface for seabirds to eat off parasites. The reason they have to do this is they don’t have scales.
