TEAMWORK!
December 19, 2023

Since Thanksgiving is in less than two weeks, we had students here at NMS write about what they were thankful for! Here are what some of these students are thankful for:

Germaine Dean – I am thankful for my family. Especially my mom, she always pushes me to do good in school and always encourages me to keep up with sports. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have ever played football which is probably my favorite sport that I play.

Bella Sollitto- One thing in my life that I’m thankful for is my friends. When I’m with them, I am the best version of myself I can be. They make me laugh and smile. Overall, they are amazing people. I’m so grateful to have met them, and even call these people my friends!

Takees Fambro- I am thankful for my failures in life because it makes me stronger. The hard times I have had have made me appreciate the good times in life. My family has also helped me and I’m grateful for them too.

Jaida Odum – I’m thankful for all of the amazing opportunities I’ve been given this year. From honors band to being able to move into my new home, I’ve been given these opportunities again and again. I am thankful for other things as well such as working the 6th grade orientation and harvest dinner.

Brian Parsons – I am thankful for my friends and family. I am also thankful for my health and being able to play sports and be active. Something else I am thankful for is God because he gave us a world to live in and he saved me from all my tough times. He has helped my family, perfect surgeries, and helped them get through illnesses.

Taylor Bickerstaff – I am thankful for so much in my life. I’m  thankful for being able to play soccer and growing up with a good home life. I am also thankful for my family and friends. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I really appreciate what I have in life.

Grace Guarnieri – I have many great things and people to be thankful for. I am so thankful for not only my family but the life they gave. Their love and support is something I will be forever grateful for. I will always be thankful for many people but it’s their actions and words that make me truly thankful to know them.

Jackson Bortmas – I am above all else, thankful for my family. After my dad’s passing, I’ve grown to learn to appreciate things before they’re gone. I’ve had many great experiences with them, and hope to have many more.

Kherington Stanford – I am very thankful for my friends and family. I’m also very thankful for veterans because they have put their life on the line to protect and give freedom to the citizens of the United States of America. My friends have always been there for me and helped me make difficult decisions throughout my life.  There have been many scenarios where I have been somewhere  or with someone and I would think, “Oh, I am very thankful for what they do for me,” but in some situations there are only certain situations where I remember what they did, and I am sincerely grateful for them.

Harlow Stone – I’m so grateful for many things. I am grateful for the parents I have and the hard work and effort they put into my siblings and me. I’m grateful for the coaches and teachers that have taken me under their wing and treated me like a kid of their own. I could make a never ending list of the friends, family, and things I have today, but I could never in a lifetime explain how grateful I am for everything in the world.

Micah Hackett – I am thankful for friends and family that make me laugh and smile but most importantly my grandma. I am so thankful that my grandma has been able to get the care she needs to be safe. I am also thankful for my school and having the opportunity to play sports.

Mya Swift – There are many things I am thankful for but one of the most important things I am thankful for is my dad. My dad has always been there for me. He’s encouraged me to be me. My dad is my whole world.

Sophia Marotti – I am the most thankful for my fourth grade math teacher, Miss Gentile. She was always there for me when I was dealing with severe psychological issues for the first time in my life. Her teaching mechanisms were super helpful and she made things easy to learn. Miss Gentile has retired now, but I’m very grateful for the year I got to experience her as a teacher.

Maddie Yost – One person in my life I’m thankful for is my mom. The reason I’m thankful for my mom is because she supports me with all my decisions and she pushes me to my full potential. When I’m upset, she’s always by my side, making me feel better. My mom is one of the strongest people I know because she works so hard and she provides for my family. I love her so much and I don’t know what I would do without her.

Chase Davis – There are many things I am thankful for such as my family and animals. Most importantly I am thankful for the food the Lord put on my table. I am also very grateful to be alive, to wake up knowing I’m still breathing and that I’m loved.

Paityn Williams – I’m thankful for God because he has helped me so much in life. I went through a pretty hard time when I was a couple years younger. My life and mind were not at its best until God entered in and fixed everything that was wrong. Without God, I wouldn’t be where I am today and I’m happier than I’ve ever been. I thank him everyday for fixing me and providing me with everything I have.

Jake Bird – I am thankful for my mom and my two brothers Luke and Logan Bird. I am also thankful for my grandma and grandpa. I also am thankful for the great food my mom makes for thanksgiving.

Dawn Jones – This year I am thankful for my family, my friends, and my emotions. I am thankful for my family because even though they make each other mad we still know we will love each other. I am thankful for my friends because true friendship is hard to come around these days so be thankful and cherish  the one you do have. I am thankful for my emotions because not everyone can feel them. Some people just feel sadness, anger, fear and worry and some just choose to hide them. So be thankful for what you have and have a great holiday.

Aubrianna Dyling – I am thankful for many things. For example I’m grateful for my loving family and that we get to spend time together. Next, I’m grateful to have a home, food, and water to survive. Then, I am thankful for all my amazing friends. Lastly, I’m grateful to have my whole own life.
